Adidas relies on real-time access to accurate data to maintain its competitive edge. Along its extended value chain – from factory production through logistics to e-commerce – every link continuously generates logs. When a malfunction or delay occurs, without comprehensive visibility across all sources, pinpointing the issue quickly is impossible.

The absence of a unified streaming platform for data consolidation and processing prevents effective, real-time collection and sharing of insights. During peak events like Black Friday, data volumes grow exponentially: without elastic scaling “up and down” before, during, and after these surges, Adidas risks revenue loss and customer dissatisfaction.

To become truly data-driven, Adidas needed a solution that could aggregate logs and metrics from every source, enforce secure and flexible access controls, and empower decision-making at every level -from shop floor to boardroom – across both routine operations and critical sales periods.



Approach





Adidas entered the project with a clear vision, having explored initial ideas through internal Proof of Concepts. When Grape Up joined, both teams were ready to turn those early concepts into a scalable, enterprise-ready solution.

Throughout the project, the teams adopted an agile and flexible approach to development to match evolving needs. Together, they tested key ideas and approaches before moving forward, ensuring each decision supported the platform’s long-term goals.

Grape Up took the lead in the initial implementation phase, establishing early feedback cycles to refine the solution. As the project progressed, both teams worked side by side to develop and maintain the platform collaboratively.

With Grape Up’s support, Adidas now operates a scalable, reliable platform that enables faster, more informed decisions across every part of the business – from product design to customer service.

Together, the teams built dedicated environments for testing, staging, and production, ensuring flexibility and stability at every stage. The platform supports global operations while allowing for regional customization – demonstrated by the seamless migration of key applications to China to improve local data access.

The solution integrates seamlessly with Adidas’ existing systems, automates data management, and optimizes infrastructure use. It not only boosts efficiency but also gives Adidas the freedom to adapt quickly -whether changing cloud providers or expanding into new markets.
