Pre-sales Cloud Solutions Engineer

We are looking for an open-minded pre-sales engineer who will help our sales team present Grape Up’s value proposition, expertise and solution design to customers and prospects. You will use your technical expertise and knowledge of competitive solutions to help the sales and engineering teams understand, design and propose the most optimal solution for the customer.
You will cooperate with the sales team on the RFx/POC process and solution design including estimation and planning. You will also participate in developing robust recommendations and proposal documents while also identifying critical dependencies & gaps.

This position is also a great opportunity to stay on top of the IT trends and stay connected to a global technological community. You will be responsible for research of emerging technologies from the cloud-native landscape and you will work closely with the marketing team to improve, strengthen and diversify Grape Up offer.

Ideal candidate will have a very good technological expertise combined with business acumen to understand high-level business goals and context.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the sales team to present Grape Up’s value proposition to customers and prospects
  • Conduct business and technical discovery to help the sales and engineering teams understand, design and propose the most optimal solution for the customer
  • Help customers understand technology/product capabilities as well as modern development process to make better data-based decisions on solution options, technology stacks, and architectures
  • Cooperate with the sales team on the RFx/POC process and solution design including estimation and planning
  • Participate in developing robust recommendations and proposal documents while also identifying critical dependencies & gaps
  • Help the sales and engineering teams understand, design and propose the most optimal solution for the customer
  • Research and investigate emerging IT technologies in areas of Cloud to strengthen and diversify company offer
  • Participate in global leading conferences and industry events to understand current IT trends
  • Work with the marketing team to improve company offer based on continuous research

Requirements

  • min. 5 years of experience on similar role
  • Technical background allowing for deep understanding of the cloud-native technologies landscape and distributed systems architectures built on various technology stacks
  • Balance of business and technology acumen, including ability to articulate high-level technical solutions to business problems
  • Experience presenting to and achieving buy-in from various audiences 
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to create clear observations, analysis and conclusions based on customer interviews and data
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new concepts and technologies in a wide variety of software solution domains
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good command of English (fluent in speaking and writing)
  • Willingness to travel (mostly USA & Europe)

Nice to have

  • Ability to design distributed software solutions running in cloud environments
  • Good understanding of DevOps philosophy, CI/CD and Agile principles
  • Interest in Cloud software market and newest technology trends
